Doha, Qatar: Nakilat is the first company in Qatar which has been certified to the new ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&S) standard issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, which is set to transform workplace health and safety practices globally.

This internationally-recognized certification was achieved after an intensive external audit and assessment, conducted almost immediately after the publication of the new standard on the 12th of March 2018.This is a reflection of the company’s proactive approach for ensuring its health and safety system meets the latest industry leading standards. During the audit, Nakilat effectively demonstrated its comprehensive OH&S management system, processes, controls, and implementation of the new standards.

The previous standard, the British Standard Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series, (BS OHSAS 18001:2007), used to be the standard for occupational health and safety management systems. A new ISO 45001:2018 standard replaces the existing OHSAS 18001 standard, with the intent of improving health and safety in the workplace, to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses around the world.
