Dr. Mohammad Al-Suliman, chief executive of Najm Insurance Services, has been named as the best CEO in the insurance category for 2020 by International Business magazine.

The recognition is in honor of Najm’s accomplishments during a challenging year where Dr. Al-Suliman and his team oversaw a number of operational transformation and customer service schemes, most notably the automation of services and the use of AI technologies, which were in line with the standards listed by the magazine.

Dr. Al-Suliman described the acknowledgement as an international recognition honoring the diligent efforts of the Najm team, supported by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) and in cooperation with Najm’s partners within the insurance sector, most prominently the General Department of Traffic and insurance companies.

“This accolade comes to reiterate our commitment toward achieving the targets of Vision 2030 aiming to raise the Kingdom’s global competitiveness through progressive and world-class insurance services that enhance the quality of life in the Kingdom,” he added.

Moreover, Dr. Al-Suliman underscored the significance of the award, which comes at a time of unprecedented challenges imposed by the pandemic, further acknowledging Najm’s capabilities as a Saudi entity capable of overcoming imposed hurdles and achieving success.

Dr. Al-Suliman was appointed CEO of Najm in February 2019. He has held leadership positions in various sectors, including telecom, finance, banking and investment management. Prior to joining Najm, he served as vice president of corporate development at Saudi Telecom Company (STC). Earlier, he was chief operating officer at the Saudi Kuwaiti Finance House and vice president of Klever Marketing in the US.

Additionally, Dr. Alsuliman is an accredited expert in global project management and mergers and acquisitions, and enjoys a rich academic record.

He holds a PhD in strategic management and information technology, a master’s degree in information systems and technology from The Drucker School of Management — Claremont Graduate University, US, and a bachelor of science and management information systems from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia.
