LONDON, 26th July, 2017 (WAM) -- The first international art exhibition of Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, the wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, which opened in July 2017 at the Saatchi Gallery in London, has witnessed a large turnout by an audience that included diplomats, officials and art critics.

The exhibition, titled, "Love and Peace Letters with Ink and Paper," which will run until 19th August, includes 20 works of art of various sizes. A talented calligrapher, Sheikha Khawla is trying to convey an important human message in calling for peace and love, and to create a bridge of communication between civilisations and cultures.

Her works of art reflect the identity of her style of 'Diwani' calligraphy, where she has over a decade of experience. Her works include poems and verses that summarise her experiences in life while reflecting human values such modesty, mercy, giving and tolerance.

Her works also include two paintings, with one being inspired by the saying, "The peace of the nations is the pride of a human being, and the blessing of glories and the expulsion of hatred," while the other includes her own words, "Let us write between the hearts of human beings with a thread of silk, expressing whispers of pure love, so that peace and security can be created between humans."The exhibition represented a new set of challenges to the creativity of Sheikha Khawla, as she progressed from writing modern poetry to structured poetry, as well as to her creative works of calligraphy.

Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi organised her first local solo exhibition under the title, "Fatima of Love and Peace" in Abu Dhabi at the end of last year, to coincide with the World Summit for Parliamentary Chairwomen, which included seven paintings dedicated to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
