• The only Etihad Guest co-branded card in the UAE to offer flexible benefits based on customer profiles including cards designed for women, UAE nationals and families

Dubai: Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, and Etihad Guest, the award-winning loyalty programme of Etihad Airways, have teamed up to launch a new co-branded credit card, the Emirates Islamic Etihad Guest Visa card.

With a comprehensive range of exclusive benefits available to cardholders, the Emirates Islamic Etihad Guest Visa card is designed to support the evolving lifestyles of the UAE population. To celebrate this exclusive launch, customers can enjoy the flexibility in choosing their offer based on their monthly spends to earn up to 300,000 Etihad Guest Miles when they subscribe to the card.

Emirates Islamic Etihad Guest Visa cardholders will be able to earn up to 3.5 Etihad Guest Miles per USD spent with Etihad, which is the richest Etihad Guest co-branded card mileage earning proposition in market. In addition, as the card is designed around the customers’ choice, it enables cardholders to choose their top two spend categories and earn up to 2.5 Etihad Guest Miles per USD spent when spending in these categories. Additionally, customers have the flexibility to change their categories once every three months.

When booking a flight with Etihad Guest Miles, cardholders will also receive up to 50% miles back and will also enjoy complimentary airport transfers to Abu Dhabi International Airport, and airport lounge access.

The announcement follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Emirates Islamic and Etihad Guest in late 2019, expanding upon their existing partnership.

Yasser Al Yousuf, Vice President Commercial Partnerships, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “At Etihad, we strive to offer our members the best proposition when it comes to payment cards. We are excited to extend our partnership with Emirates Islamic to launch this new, highly rewarding and flexible co-branded Visa credit card, designed around our members preferences and needs. In keeping with our reputation of being the most rewarding programme in the market, this card offers a remarkable proposition including the richest Etihad Guest co-branded card mileage earnings, benefits such as a fast-track to our premium tiers, and much more”.

Wasim Saifi, Deputy CEO - Consumer Banking and Wealth Management, Emirates Islamic, said: “Emirates Islamic strives to offer innovative and rewarding cards to discerning customers seeking the best value and benefits on their card spends.  Our partnership with Etihad Guest brings together two leading, local brands to offer an unmatched proposition to our valued customers, while giving them the freedom to select their top spend categories to earn maximum rewards.”

“The Emirates Islamic Etihad Guest Visa Card is an exciting new addition to our suite of credit and debit cards that offer some of the best rewards programmes in the market,” he added.

Shahebaz Khan, UAE General Manager, Visa, said: “As a global leader in travel co-brand products, Visa is always striving to enrich the travel experience for our cardholders. This partnership between Etihad Guest, Emirates Islamic and Visa offers travel benefits that create real value for Emirates Islamic Etihad Guest Visa cardholders while continuing to offer the freedom of acceptance at more than 53 million merchant locations worldwide and peace of mind of being protected by Visa's global, secure network that our cardholders have come to expect from us.”

The Emirates Islamic Etihad Guest Visa card will be available in four variants: Platinum, Premium, Saqer (exclusively for Emiratis), and Ameera (exclusively for women).

Emirates Islamic and Etihad Guest have been in partnership since 2014, allowing the bank’s customers to convert their EI Smart Miles into Etihad Guest Miles, which can then be used to book flights or be redeemed in the airline’s Reward Shop. The new card will complement the existing programme, giving customers more opportunity to earn miles and redeem for rewards.
