The Roads and Transport Authority also announced new timings for Customers' happiness centres, metro lines

Dubai: The Saudi Supreme Court has already called on all Muslims throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of the Holy Month of Ramadan on Thursday, May 25.

In its announcement, the Supreme Court called on whoever sights the crescent by the naked eye or through binoculars, “to report to the nearest court and register his testimony, or report to the authority of the region's centre in his area where he sighted the crescent to facilitate his reaching the nearest court,” according to the Saudi Press Agency.

With Ramadan set to start either on Friday or Saturday, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai are notifying residents about the new change in parking timings.

Parking

  • Zones A, B, C, D and G. Parking fees will be charged from  Saturday to Thursday, from 8am to 5pm, and from 7pm to midnight.
  • Dubai Silicon Oasis, Zone H. Saturday to Thursday, from 8am to 10pm
  • Tecom, Zone F. Saturday to Thursday, from 8am to 6pm
  • Fish Market, Zone E. Saturday to Friday, from 8am to 11pm daily 

In a statement, Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication, RTA, said: "Adjusting the service-time aims to improve the level of services delivered by RTA's  agencies to the public to match with the daily routine during the holy month of Ramadan, which is different from the rest of the year.”

Metro

Red Line

  • Saturday to Wednesday, from 5.30am to midnight
  • From Thursday 5.30am to 1am on Friday
  • From Friday 10am to 1am on Saturday
  • There will be no change in the timing of the Express Metro service during Ramadan

Green Line

  • Saturday to Wednesday from 5.50am to midnight
  • From Thursday 5.50am to 1am on Friday
  • From Friday 10am to 1am on Saturday

Customers' happiness centres 

Open from Sunday to Thursday

  • Umm Al Romool, Al Barsha, Deira and Al Kafaf Centers will open from 9am to 2pm
  • Al Tawar, Al Manara, and Al Awir Centers will open from 9am to 5pm
