Dubai Economy has fined 25 businesses for violating coronavirus Covid-19 precautionary measures.

According to a statement tweeted on Saturday, 25 establishments were fined for Covid rule violations that were introduced to curb spread of the virus. DED did not issue any warnings or close establishments.

Earlier on Friday, DED announced the closure of a shop for overcrowding during its grand opening.

Stressing that public health is a top priority, Dubai Economy warned that stern action will be taken against non-compliance. It called on everyone to cooperate and contribute to keeping the emirate's economy moving despite the pandemic threat.

Residents may report any safety violation through the Dubai Consumer app, hotline 600545555, or by visiting the www.consumerrights.ae website, the authority said.
