City Centre Muscat has become the first shopping mall in Oman to offer its shoppers the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles.

The e-charging stations, which are free to customers, are at the parking facility on Level 1. The introduction of e-charging stations aims to contribute to reducing fossil fuel consumption and emissions of CO2 in the environment and contribute and boost ‘green’ driving and a cleaner environment.

“The government’s sustainability goals prioritize the support for electric vehicles in the Sultanate with infrastructure that will enhance convenience for early adopters. We see ourselves as their partners in driving innovation in the country and facilitating easy access to free charging units that will encourage others to consider environment-friendly modes of travel and create a culture of eco-consciousness in society,” said Husam Al Mandhari, senior mall manager, Oman – Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim Properties. – TradeArabia News Service
