Bahrain's Nass Corporation announces provisional award of $35mln road construction contract

Only two companies had submitted proposals for Package A of South Bahrain Loop Roads Stage - 2 project

Bahrain's Nass Corporation announced on Sunday that its subsidiary Nass Contracting Co has been notified of provisional contract award for a package of South Bahrain Loop Roads (SBLR) project.

The project was tendered by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

The company said in a stock exchange statement that it received a "notice of provisional intent of [contract] award for Package A of SBLR Stage - 2 project."

The statement said the contract value is 13 million Bahraini dinars ($35 million).

Last week, Bahrain's Tender Board had received two offers from Haji Hassan Group and five from Nass Contracting for the project. The former has offered 14.2 million dinars as option 1 and 12.7 million dinars as option 2. The latter had offered 13.9 million dinars as option 1; 12.9 million dinars as option 2; 13.2 million dinars as option 3 and 12.3 million dinars as option 4.
