MANAMA: Seef Properties, an integrated real estate developer, said work is nearing completion on its mixed-use project, Al Liwan.

Inspired by Bahrain’s Arab culture, the name ‘Al Liwan’ means the spacious hall that was used for receiving guests in traditional houses.

A first-of-its-kind project in Hamala, Al Liwan will offer a combination of shopping, entertainment, and housing facilities.

The 122,000sqm development will feature a variety of restaurants, cafes and retail stores topped with 117 residential units spread over three-stories.

It also includes seven cinema halls, a family entertainment centre as well as open areas, green spaces, waterfronts and boulevards.

The project is being developed by Lama Real Estate Development; a joint venture company of Seef Properties.

Seef Properties chief executive Ahmed Yusuf told a media tour yesterday that work is on in full swing and Al Liwan is expected to open its doors by the first quarter of 2021.
