A Chinese construction company and its local agent have won a road contract in Kuwait worth nearly 88.9 million Kuwaiti dinars ($290.6 million), the local firm has said.

The project South of Kuwait City was awarded to China First Highway Engineering and its local agent the Combined Group Contracting Company (CGCC).

In a statement published on Kuwait's bourse, CGCC said the project involves new roads, maintenance of roads, bridges and rainwater sewage networks, and other associated services in the area where King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Rd, Damascus road and the 5th ring road are located.
