Iraq has launched a project to construct 31 schools in various parts of the country to face growth in the number of students, the official Alsabah daily said on Thursday.

The Construction, Housing and Municipalities Ministry is building the schools in six governorates, the paper said, quoting Sadiq Al-Fartousi, Director General of Saad General Company, an affiliate of the Ministry.

Fartousi said some schools are already under construction and that all of them are expected to be completed within a few months.

He said the Company is funding the project and that it would be paid by the Education Ministry after the Coronavirus pandemic is over.
