Background

Oman Broadband Company SAOC planned to develop Oman Broadband Infrastructure Project, in Oman. The project comprised of laying approximately 4,097 km of cable, dropping approximately 9,535 km of cable and installing supporting infrastructure such as fiber distribution hubs. Once the project was completed, 80% of Muscat would be fiber-ready for connection with the gigabit-capable optical networks. The objective of the project was to improve the telecommunications connectivity in Oman and increase the digital literacy and productivity of its human capital.
