Background

Lilongwe Water Board planned to develop Lilongwe City Priority Water Distribution Network Rehabilitation Project, in Lilongwe, Malawi. PowerChina Stecol Corporation was the contractor. The project covered the construction of laying 175 KM water Distribution Network, installation pressure and water leakage control systems, 60 valve boxes, supporting engineering crossing rivers, streams and railways and pump rooms with an area of 141.51 square meters. The construction period was 18 months. The guarantee period was 12 months. The project responded to Belt and Road Initiative and would improve local water supply.
