400 MW Dapein Hydropower Station Project

Dapein (1) Hydropower Co Ltd planned to develop 400 MW Dapein Hydropower Station Project located in Dapein, Bhamo city of Kachin Province, Myanmar. Jiangxi Provincial Water Conservancy Planning Design & Research Institute, China Datang Group Co Ltd, Huazhong Electric Power Development Co were the sponsors for the project. Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co Ltd was the construction contractor for the project. On Jan 23 2011, the construction for phase 1 was completed, the construction for phase 1 includes 4x60 MW power. The project value for phase 1 was about 1700 million RMB. Myanmar Government was the concession awarding constitution that awarded the Built-Operate-Transfer concession to Dapein (1) Hydropower Co Ltd for 35 years, with extension duration of 5 years. Dapein (1) Hydropower Co Ltd signed the off-take contract with China Southern Power Grid Co Ltd to sent 90% of power to China Southern Power Grid.
