China and Russia plan to build a bridge between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. The total length of the bridge is 19.9 kilometers. Bridge width is 14.5 meters. The Russian part is 13.4 kilometers. Russia will build half of the bridge across the Amur (540,33 m), a bridge over the Kanikurgan channel, 12 kilometers of access roads, with 5 artificial structures — these are 3 overpasses, 2 structures for divided areas. The Chinese part is about 6.5 kilometers (half of the bridge across the Amur (540,33 m) and access roads). Both trucks and cars will move along the finished automobile structure. According to the terms of reference, the flow of passengers will be about 3 million people per year, and the flow of cargo will be about 6 million tons per year. The new road crossing will allow the establishment of year-round cargo and passenger traffic at the existing border crossing points and will be one of the links of international transport corridors. As part of this project, construction of the Kani-Kurgan-Heihe automobile checkpoint on the Russian-Chinese border is planned. The capacity of the border crossing will be up to 630 trucks, 164 buses, 68 cars and about 5.5 thousand people per day. The checkpoint will be available around the clock. The opening of the checkpoint Kani-Kurgan will contribute to the development of international cooperation and trade between Russia and China.
