People's Committee of Ninh Thuan Province planned to develop Ca Na Seaport Complex Project in Phuoc Diem, Ninh Thuan, Vietnam. Trungnam Group was the construction contractor. This first phase covered the construction of a port that was designed to handle 3300000 t/y cargo. It included 2 wharves of receiving ships of 70000 to 100000 deadweight tonnage (DWT), 1 wharf for ships of 20000 DWT, along with berths, rafts, trees, yards, warehouses, logistic services infrustracture, technical and traffic infrastructure. The complex would apply smart technology, which would help speed up cargo handling. Upon completion, the port would create favourable conditions for existing industrial parks and clusters in Ninh Thuan, as well as the south central region and Central Highlands. It was expected to facilitate the transportation of equipment for ongoing renewable energy projects in the province.
