Background

Government of Nepal planned to develop Nepal - China Crossborder Optical Fiber Link Project between China and Nepal. Nepal Doorsancher Co Ltd and China Telecom Global Ltd were two construction contractors of the project. The project covered the installation of telecommunication cables in both Nepal and China side. And cable in China side was 830 km long but Nepal side unknown. With the completion of the project, Nepalese government would significantly reduce the cost of international Internet broadband purchases, thus helping end customers significantly reduce mobile Internet traffic costs. Improved quality of Nepal ’s Internet would effectively meet the growing demand for network traffic, promote the development of the telecommunications market, and greatly improve the business environment in Nepal.
