Weihai District Wendeng District People's Government planned to develop Shandong Weihai International Logistics Multimodal Transport Center Project, in Wendeng District, Weihai, Shandong, China. The project had a total planned area of 3,926 mu, it mainly constructed four functional zones and supporting industrial parks. The four functional zones included multimodal transport operation area, highway port comprehensive service area, warehouse processing and distribution area, and trade display and trading area. Around the logistics function area, about 2,200 mu of land was planned in the surrounding area, and a modern industrial park with high-grade chemical industry and new materials was built. The project would build an integrated logistics distribution center and supporting parks that integrate the transportation, warehousing, transit, collection and distribution of railways, ports, aviation, highways and other multi-modal transportation. The project aimed to be able to give full play to the advantages and efficiency of various modes of transportation such as railway, highway, maritime transport and air transport, and provide strong support for accelerating the construction of Weihai Unicom's international logistics channels for Japan, South Korea and Eurasia, and create a modern logistics for Weihai. The billion-industry cluster has become an important driving force for deep integration into the 'Belt and Road' construction.
