Pacific Hydro Pty Ltd planed to develop 82 MW Coquimbo Punta Sierra Wind Farm Project, in Punta Sierra Wind Farm, Ovalle, Coquimbo, Chile. The supply contractor was Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd.. The project covered the construction and installation of a wind farm with the total installed capacity of 82 MW. It would install 32 turbines using Goldwind GW121/2500. After the project was completed, it would generate about 282 GWh per year, which could meet the electricity demands for 130 thousand households and reduce carbon emissions by 157000 tonnes per year. The project was considered as a milestone that Pacific Hydro and its parent company SPIC jointly developed project after the acquisition deal. Chilean economy minister said the project showed the vast potential for future partnerships between companies from Chile and China.
