General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI) plans to build a port in Um Qasr in Iraq. The port handles liquid and dry bulk, general cargo and containers and it consists of 21 berths of a total length of 600 m and 900,000 TEU in a 550,000 sq.m. storage area and Phase 1 of the project includes a new 200 m. quay wall and 130000 of storage yard, with a capacity of 300,000 TEU and 250 meter of berth.
