NBB announced as lead partner for regional mentorshipnbsp;forum in Bahrain

Manama: National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) was today announced as the Lead Partner for the upcoming “Human Capital Forum – Harnessing the Power of Mentorship” taking place in Strategic Partnership with Tamkeen in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 25th November 2019.

The event will showcase the important role that mentorship plays in accelerating human capital development and the realisation of the development goals of the GCC economies and companies across all sectors.

The Forum will feature leading regional and international speakers and experts on mentorship. Themes and topics, to soon be announced, will help build awareness of the need for mentorship, how to harness its power and what effective best practices look like in terms of the mentoring of both entrepreneurs and corporate professionals.

Mentorship will be discussed as a way to both advance personal and organisational development and we will bring on board and feature examples of successful programmes and tools for creating impactful mentoring programmes and partnerships.

Commenting, Ms. Dana Buheji, Chief Human Resources Officer at NBB, said, “We are delighted to lend our support alongside Tamkeen to supporting this important Forum aimed at bringing to light innovative methods and platforms for fostering talent development. Core to NBB’s strategy for ongoing and sustainable growth is building and promoting leaders and talent from within and we believe that mentorship is an important tool for leveraging the senior talent we have across the Bank to shape, inspire and propel forward our next generation of leaders.”

Mentorship has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to drive talent development, but its place in the development and training agenda of most organisations in the Gulf region still remains negligible. The Forum has been designed to highlight the vast benefits that mentorship can provide for all stakeholders and for both emerging corporate leaders and entrepreneurs (i.e. start-ups and SMEs).

Ms. Zahraa Taher, Managing Director of FinMark Communications, the Forum’s organiser, added, “With NBB already playing an active and important role in supporting the training and development of local talent development, we’re delighted to have them on board as partner for this unique Forum. Mentoring can play a critical role in the process of accelerating professional and leadership development and we look forward to NBB’s participation alongside other leading companies from across the region to highlight its benefits and to discuss how they themselves can invest in and develop effective mentorship programmes.”

Other partners of the Forum include Reach, the first non-profit mentoring programme dedicated to helping young female professionals in the Middle East. Reach, which operates out of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), with programmes in Bahrain and Lebanon, was established with the support of world-class corporates including: Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, Deloitte, Dentons, Cisco and others who continue to be active believers in mentorship and supporters and users of the programme.

Further details of the conference and programme will soon be announced. For questions on how to sponsor or take part, please contact info@finmarkcoms.com or 17749759.
