Baghdad: – Asiacell, commenced the year of 2022 with two awards that reinforced its position as the leading mobile network in Iraq. Asiacell announced today the results of over 240,000 user initiated tests taken using Speedtest® by Ookla® which confirmed Asiacell has the Fastest Mobile Network and the Best Mobile Coverage in Iraq based on H2 2021 results confirming it as Iraq’s Best Mobile Network.*

This premium ranking came after Asiacell’s enhancements which allowed the telecom to provide its customers with 4G+ services. This was all made possible by the massive investment which Asiacell did in the near to non-existent infrastructure the telecommunications sector had in Iraq and the dedication and hard work which the Asiacell team did to ensure that their services remain premium even through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speedtest® results confirmed Asiacell as Best Mobile Coverage in Iraq by providing network coverage in over 99% of Iraqi locations observed. It also named Asiacell as Fastest Mobile Network thanks to its  Speed ScoreTM of 48.73. This asserts how Asiacell provides its subscribers in Iraq with the most superior experience with the nation’s best mobile coverage.

The telecom sector has been long suffering from many challenges. Asiacell has aided the government to overcome these challenges by working on fixing the infrastructure and investing in improving the quality of services the telecom industry has to offer. The tag comes at a time when customers are heavily dependent on a mobile network's speed to remain digitally connected. Asiacell was able to prove its leading status as the true and only mobile provider to offer both the fastest connection and best coverage based on H2 2021 results.

Mr. Omer Faleh, Director of Public Relations and Communications at Asiacell, said: “It is our pleasure to be presented with the award for Fastest Mobile Network in Iraq and Best Mobile coverage. This recognition is testament to Asiacell’s exceptional performance based on Ookla's rigorous analysis of consumer-initiated tests taken. Asiacell has been consistently offering the fastest 4G experience for many quarters and with our continued efforts to provide superior experience.
