Abu Dhabi, UAE – Alef Education, a leading global education technology provider that empowers 21st-century learning, today announced that half a million students in Indonesia now have access to its award-winning digital learning platform.

Starting this academic year, Grade 7 students in schools across Indonesia will learn mathematics on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Alef Platform. The digital lessons delivered by the Alef Platform are aligned to the Indonesian curriculum standards and use the GASING method to support student achievement. Alef Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) signed an agreement in November last year to transform the education sector in Indonesia using advanced education technologies that deliver personalised learning experiences for students and improve learning outcomes.

HE H. Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Religious Affairs, Indonesia, stated: “The education landscape has gone through a paradigm shift, especially due to the pandemic. It has become increasingly important to raise the bar of the education we deliver to our students and supplement our traditional learning style with digital learning solutions such as the Alef Platform. Alef Education is a global education technology leader that has revolutionised education, and we’re delighted to work with them to modernise the learning experience of our students. The implementation of the Alef Platform will support our objective to improve the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) score and numeric literacy for madrasah students under MoRA.”

Geoffrey Alphonso, CEO, Alef Education, said: “At Alef Education, we are committed to transforming the global education industry, and our entry into Indonesia is by far our largest and most strategic international expansion to date. We are excited to extend our services to Indonesian schools and look forward to the students experiencing a new approach to learning through our Platform. The Alef Platform is an unrivalled digital learning partner for schools across the world as it provides personalised learning experiences for students. It is a perfect tool for a remote learning environment as it enables schools and ministries to improve learning outcomes while delivering lessons that are engaging and fun.”

Alef Education’s flagship product, the Alef Platform, also supports teachers with delivering engaging, gamified content that aligns specifically to their curriculum, assisting in grading and student management. The Platform generates real-time data to relay relevant and timely feedback to students and teachers that help enable this transformative process and has been a critical part of the Platform’s success. Its centralised dashboard leverages Machine Learning and Big Data to provide actionable data and intelligent and accurate recommendations to Ministries to enable the improvement of learning outcomes amongst students. Since its inception, Alef Education has impacted the lives of more than 120,000 students from over 400 schools in the UAE, the US, Canada, and now an additional 500,000 students in Indonesia.
