Riffa, Bahrain - The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) opened registration for its very first Summer Camp that is set to take place from the 4th – 14th of July 2021. The Camp, which will take place over 2 weeks is intended to inspire and engage curious minds through STEM learning and will teach hard skills for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun and engaging setting. The decision for the camp to be STEM focused, is in line with the University’s focus on STEM and Business for its academic portfolio.

Over the course of two weeks, for two hours a day, the experience will cover topics under themes of Mobile Games Development, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Electronic Circuits. Through a wide range of adopted teaching strategies and techniques, the Camp will help students boost their tech proficiency, both giving them a broad foundation in technology and helping them prepare for their future. In line with preparing students for tomorrow, the camp will foster valuable soft skills such as problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and more core skills which employers are seeking when recruiting and are embedded in the curriculum at the University. Beyond the Camp, Participants will also be offered a complimentary class of their choice in a preview of University life, and they will have exclusive access to the University’s 75,000 square-meter, state-of-the-art campus for the summer. This approach to education is in keeping with AUBH’s American style of education, delivering a holistic educational experience to AUBH Students, enabling them to find their real passions and allowing them to develop their abilities, leading to long successful careers in their chosen industry.

AUBH Founding President Dr. Susan Saxton commented: “We look forward to welcoming young students to the Summer Camp, as we help them to build confidence in their creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills that are not only essential for a successful career but also valuable for a lifetime of success, while developing both theoretical and practical knowledge in exciting and trending topics such as AI and Robotics.”
