Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading Islamic financial institution, announces the introduction of Amwali’s AI Chat bot. Through automated responses, Amwali Chat Banking will provide customers with services including balance inquiries, fund transfers, and transaction history.

Launched in August, Awmali is the world’s first Islamic digital bank for youth aged 8 to 18 years offering instant fully digital account opening for youth. Amwali is gaining high tractions from youth and is acquiring more customers monthly than any other bank – with 65% of its customers being UAE nationals aged between 12 to 16.

Raweya Al Qader, head of youth banking segment at ADIB, said: “We believe that Amwali Chat Banking will significantly enhance the digital banking experience for our new generation of customers by providing easy and quick resolutions to commonly asked queries. With its fresh and unique flavour, Amwali Chat banking has been carefully created with simple and clear language. It will complement ADIB’s digital offering with a host of innovative functions that will help the Bank’s customers take control of their finances from a young age.”

Amwali is part of ADIB’s digital transformation strategy, which was accelerated in 2020 to meet growing client preference for interaction through digital channels. The volume of digital payments from ADIB’s corporate clients grew 107% year on year in the first half of 2021 while the value of payments grew 127% in the same time frame.

Amwali Chat Banking recognises Amwali customers and provides them with a simplified set of services to suit their needs. With the chat services customers will be able to get support for all their banking needs via WhatsApp and also share their feedback. Chat banking is a convenient banking channel that will be made available in addition to the dedicated Amwali Mobile App.

Additionally, to celebrate the UAE’s 50th anniversary ADIB is also launching a special Amwali UAE card designed with the UAE’s flag colours, to honour the Emirati identity, pride and spirit.

The Amwali UAE card is also available for selection on the app. Customers applying for an Amwali account will have this card as a third option and be able to choose a card design they prefer. The new debit card will be available for customers starting 1 December.
