ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
The famed statue of the 'Fearless Girl' that was installed in New York's financial district last spring staring down Wall Street's "Charging Bull" now has a permanent home.
The 4-foot bronze statue is being installed on Broad Street in front of the New York Stock Exchange.
Initially installed to mark International Women's Day last March, the girl statue was meant to be removed a month later. But the city extended its stay amid ebullient interest on social media, generous press attention and at least two petitions.
State Street Global Advisors, a subsidiary of State Street Corp, said it financed the installation by artist Kristen Visbal to highlight the need for more women on corporate boards. Twenty-five percent of the largest 3,000 U.S. companies have no female directors, State Street noted at the time.
