Flying over a city of four million
is a convenient way to avoid an often crowded commute.
But what about the cost of this air taxi service over Amman?
At 77 dollars per person, it's hardly sky high.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FOR THE GOLDEN EAGLE AVIATION ACADEMY, AYMAN AL HASAN, SAYING:
"We saw an increasing demand for the air taxi, which provides a service that allows Jordanians or tourists to be transported from one place in Jordan to another."
The service has been launched by Golden Eagle Aviation Academy..
in collaboration with the Royal Jordanian air force. ...
To offer passengers a different view of the Jordanian city.
And it's proved popular..since its launch in October...dozens of people have used it.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNIVERSITY STUDENT AND AIR TAXI PASSENGER, MOHAMMED HMEIDY, SAYING:
"It's not scary, on the contrary it's a very nice trip. It is very enjoyable and you get to see everything."
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) AIR TAXI PASSENGER, JEHAD AL SHEIKH, SAYING:
"I encourage everyone to see the capital Amman from the air."
Soon passengers will be able to see more than just that.
The company plans to extend its trips to landmarks around the country..
including Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea and the ancient city of Petra.
And even to other countries in the region.
