HAMBURG- Turkey's state grain board TMO has bought about 175,000 tonnes of wheat in an international tender for the same amount that closed on Thursday, traders said.

Purchasing was now complete, they said, adding the tonnages purchased and prices were subject to final confirmation in coming days.

Red milling wheat was sought in 25,000 tonnes consignments for shipment to a series of Turkish ports. Offers were sought for wheat with a minimum 12.5% to 13.5% protein content.

The tender continues an active period of grain importing by Turkey to cool local prices and support the country’s large flour export programme.
