HAMBURG- Jordan's state grain buyer has issued an international tender to buy 120,000 tonnes of milling wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Wednesday.

The tender deadline is Jan. 22.

In recent months, Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in tenders after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses.

But Jordan did buy 60,000 wheat for March shipment in its last tender on Tuesday after also seeking offers for 120,000 tonnes.

The new wheat tender seeks shipment in a range of possible combinations in 60,000-tonne consignments. Possible shipment periods are April 1-15, April 16-30, May 1-15 and May 16-31.

A separate tender from Jordan to purchase 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley also closes on Wednesday.
