ArabFinance: Delta Sugar (SUGR) achieved a net profit of EGP 76.776 million in quarter one (Q1) 2021, according to the companys unaudited financial statements.

In Q1 2020, the company incurred a net loss of EGP 118.780 million.

The sugar company has aimed to increase its factory capacity of sugar beet to 21,000 tons from 14,000 tons per day, the company Chairman and Managing Director Ahmed Abu Al-Yazid said.

Delta Sugar turned to a net loss in 2020, suffering EGP 253.95 million, against a net profit of EGP 42.89 million in 2019.

Delta Sugar is an Egypt-based shareholding company that operates in the food processing industry sector. The company is engaged in the manufacture of white sugar and related products. It operates one factory, which produces over 270,000 tons of white sugar annually.
