BEIRUT: Lebanon registered 21 COVID-19 deaths and 302 cases over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Monday, confirming a slowing trend in the spread of the virus.
The cases were detected among 8,066 tests, with 13 cases found among travelers arriving from abroad. The average positivity rate throughout the last two weeks dropped to 8 percent.
The total number of cases since the virus was first detected in the country in February last year rose to 533,141, according to figures released by the Health Ministry. The total number of fatalities now stands at 7,507.
The statistics provided by the Health Ministry also show that 831 patients are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 and related complications, with 429 in the ICU and 127 requiring ventilators.
