ArabFinance: Egypt said that all foreign visitors will need to show a negative PCR test result certificate for the coronavirus starting August 15th, according to a ministerial statement.

The test should be taken no more than 72 hours before passengers want to travel, the Civil Aviation Ministry added in the August 6th statement.

The new decision does not apply to Arab and foreign tourists traveling on direct flights to the airports of Sharm el Sheikh, Taba, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, and Marsa Matrouh.

State-run EgyptAir announced earlier that foreign passengers not holding residency permits in Egypt cannot travel from Cairo to the Red Sea, South Sinai, and Marsa Matrouh, and vice versa.

Airports across Egypt resumed their activity in July.

Approximately 50,000 travelers arrived in the coastal cities of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada over the past month.
