Dubai has tightened Covid safety measures, with authorities ensuring that all protocols are followed stringently. The idea is to ensure people remain masked as they maintain a safe distance from one another.

Additionally, the emirate's attractions and experiential operators have adopted a range of new precautionary measures. Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) has listed out the additional procedures that have been implemented at these tourist destinations.

>> Malls

Retail outlets and entertainment venues like The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates are operating at 70 per cent capacity until February 28.

>> Global Village

It has temporarily suspended all shows, including firework displays and street entertainment. Everything else is open.

>> Burj Khalifa

The world's tallest building has implemented a new hygienic system, including pre-purchase of tickets online, contactless payments, staff/guest temperature checks and rigorous sanitisation routines implemented at all touchpoints.

>> Hot air balloons

Hero Experiences Group, which operates the Platinum Heritage and Balloon Adventures has hired a hygiene manager to ensure that all of the Covid-19 protocols are upheld.

>> IMG Worlds of Adventure

The world's largest indoor theme and amusement park has daily deep cleaning and sanitising procedures. A limited number of guests are allowed inside the retail stores and dining areas, and thermal cameras have been installed at the entrances of the park.

>> Dubai Aquarium

The attraction that showcases more than 300 species of marine animals and offers speciality dives, shark trainer encounters and snorkeling, has implemented these safety measures: Online ticket purchase, temperature checks upon arrival and rigorous sanitisation routines.

>> Legoland Dubai

Building experiences and soft play areas have been closed.

>> Laguna Waterpark

It is operating at a reduced capacity with hourly disinfection and daily deep cleans.

>> Atlantis,The Palm

Its pools, restaurants and beaches are operating at a limited capacity. Families are permitted to sit together as well as groups of up to five guests.
