WASHINGTON - U.S. and Chinese officials will hold a telephone call later on Thursday, and further in-person trade talks could be possible depending on how their discussion goes, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said.

Mnuchin, speaking in a CNBC interview from a G7 meeting in France, said he and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer will participate in the call with their Chinese counterparts.
