PARIS Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan met here on Wednesday with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian.

They explored opportunities for economic cooperation, especially in innovation and technology, exchange of experiences and transfer of knowledge.

The two sides also stressed the importance of encouraging investors to contribute to sustainable development and carrying out mega projects in the two friendly countries.

Commenting on his meeting with his French counterpart, Prince Faisal tweeted, saying: “I met today with my friend @JY_LeDrian, we explored opportunities to strengthen the strategic partnerships between our two countries. We also discussed prominent developments and the importance of joint coordination to achieve and maintain peace and security.”

Earlier in the day, the Saudi foreign minister held talks with members of the French Senate.

During the talks, the two sides reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations that bring together the two countries in all fields.

Prince Faisal pointed out there are umpteen opportunities for the development of relations between the two friendly countries, noting that the two governments are working intensively to develop bilateral relations on an ongoing basis, especially in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Saudi foreign minister also affirmed that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 solidly established a better future for the Kingdom and its partners in the world.

Meanwhile, members of the French Senate welcomed the visit of the Saudi foreign minister, pointing out that it confirms the depth of relations between the two countries.

The members of the Senate also stressed that the relations between the two countries are strong and developed at all levels, expressing their hope for strengthening relations between the French Senate and the Saudi Shoura Council.

The Senate members praised the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which has made great, rapid and giants leaps at all levels.
