Riyadh –  Saudi Telecom Company (stc) on Wednesday said it will provide an additional of more than 71 cities across Saudi Arabia with 5G network as part of its second-phase plan to deploy the network country-wide.

The milestone showcases stc’s continuous efforts to develop the 5G network’s systems and infrastructure, most notably, expanding the fibre to the home (FTTH) network and Internet Gateway, according to a press release.

This aims to keep pace with the huge increase in the amount of data passed through the network.

In addition, the capacity of the cache engines network and systems have been increased in line with the international agreements stc signed with content giants including, Google, Facebook, and Akamai. This will provide better and faster services to stc’s customers, the statement said.

Recently, stc won the annual prize for the fastest mobile network in Saudi Arabia and received prizes for providing the best 5G coverage, best mobile network and the fastest mobile 5G network in the kingdom.
