SHARJAH- The Electricity Emergency Department of Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has received the first mobile generating unit with a capacity of 1,500 kilovolts to support the department’s work in emergencies.

Electricity can be supplied to more than 50 homes in emergency cases through this unit, as part of the SEWA’s strategy to provide the best services, as electric power generators are one of the means of securing electricity in cases of emergency maintenance.

Abdulrahman Karam, Director, Electricity Emergency Department, SEWA, indicated that the electric generators are one of the alternatives that SEWA uses in cases of emergency maintenance of the electricity.

He added that SEWA has a number of other generators with a capacity of 500 kilovolts and 250 kilovolts, which are used in various areas during any emergency, stressing that the new generation unit is a great addition to the emergency department and will serve all areas.
