Budget carrier Flydubai has announced it will add four new European destinations to its network before summer.

From May 2021, the Dubai-based airline will fly to Catania and Naples in Italy, Salzburg in Austria and Malta.

The new passenger services will expand the carrier’s network to more than 65 destinations, 20 of them are in Europe, including Belgrade, Bucharest, Helsinki, Istanbul, Krakow, Prague and Sofia.

Flights to Malta and Catania will kick off on May 12, four times weekly, while trips to Naples will resume from May 13 with a three times weekly service. Services on the Dubai-Salzburg route will also be four times weekly, starting from Mary 13, 2021.

“With the start of flights to Catania, Malta, Naples and Salzburg, we continue to gradually grow our network catering to an increasing demand for travel, as more passengers return to the skies and more countries ease restrictions on international travel,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer of Flydubai.

“Since commencing operations in 2009, we have been committed to opening up previously underserved markets and the launch of our latest routes in Europe demonstrates our continuous efforts to offer more people the opportunity to travel more often while creating free flows of travel, trade and tourism.”
The airline grounded the vast majority of its fleet in March 2020, following the closure of international borders due to coronavirus.

The budget carriers started redeploying its aircraft only last July.
