ArabFinance: Egypts food exports leveled up 13% Year on Year (YoY) during the first half (H1) of 2021, according to recent data by the Food Export Council.

Food exports recorded $2 billion in H1 2021, compared to $1.8 billion in H1 2020.

Food accounted for 13% of the countrys non-oil exports during the six-month period, which saw Egyptian companies ship goods worth $15.4 billion overseas.

Arab countries were the most important importers of Egyptian food products during H1 2021, accounting for more than half of the countrys total exports.

Countries in the region imported food worth $1.09 billion during the six-month period ended in June, up 9% from the same period a year ago.

The European Union accounted for 14% of the total exports, followed by non-Arab African countries for 11%, and the US for 5% were our next biggest customers.
