Cairo – Egypt’s manufacturing and extractive industries index went up 2.2% to record a reading of 116.05 in September from 113.56 in August, according to official data on Thursday.

Food products industries index increased by 4.55% to signal 144.33 in September from 138.05 in the previous month.

Pharma and chemical industries index also rose by 6.01% to record 129.04 in September, compared to 121.72 in August, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Meanwhile, beverage production index decreased by 6.29% on a monthly basis to signal 365.42 in September from 389.93 a month earlier.

Electronics manufacturing index declined by 19.39% to 98.25 last September from 121.89 in August.
