The Egyptian startup ReNile has succeeded in providing its technical solutions to the Fayrouz fish farming project in Port Said.

The project was recently inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and represents the largest fish farming project in the Middle East.

ReNile works in the field of Internet of Things (IOT), and provides effective solutions and modern systems in the field of environmental services.

The company provided all the necessary solutions and services to the Port Said project, in terms of the efficiency of the devices and their uses in monitoring water quality on a 24-hour basis. The solutions aim to help save feed consumption and produce highly quality fish, in addition to reducing the expenses of the fish farm.

Mohamed Shadid, Executive Director of the Egyptian Information, Telecommunications, Electronics, and Software Alliance (EITESAL), said that choosing ReNile is a matter of pride on the part of those in charge of the Technology Innovation Complex in Alexandria’s Borg El Arab city.

The complex provides its services to small and micro enterprises, as well as emerging companies, by providing all means of support, whether technical and technological consulting or logistical.

It also reflects the role played by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) in supporting Egypt’s startups, and providing a fertile environment for their business growth.

Shadid said that the Technology Innovation Complex is an idea born from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at ITIDA. It represents a model for cooperation and integration between the government, the private sector, civil society and a number of universities and research centres.

These include Alexandria University, the Egypt Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRR), and the Arab Academy for Science and Maritime Transport (AASMT). Also involved with the complex are EITESAL and 12 other companies working in the commercial and industrial fields.

Shadid added that the complex incubates startups whose ideas are based on innovation in the IoT field or in related fields. He also said that ITIDA is the main financier of the Technology Innovation Park, with annual funding ranging between 60%-80% of its funds, and it is intended to incubate 10 companies annually.
