RIYADH: 5G telecommunications services reached three additional Saudi governorates during the first quarter of 2021, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced in its quarterly Meqyas report.

The governorates with 5G services amounted to 53 compared to 51 governorates quarter-on-quarter.

STC and Zain have now deployed 5G services in 43 governorates, while Mobily offers 5G services in 21 governorates, the report showed.

The average download speed of 5G services in the Kingdom was 322.42 Mbps during the quarter, CITC said.

Zain recorded the highest average download speed at 350.47 Mbps, STC came in second place with an average speed of 348.33, and Mobily came in third place with an average download speed of 231.83 Mbps.
