AMMAN The United Arab Emirates is home for more than 200,000 Jordanian residents, Emirati Ambassador to Jordan Ahmed Ali Balushi said on Wednesday.

In an interview with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on the 50th UAE National Day, Balushi said that Jordanian investment in the UAE reached nearly $2 billion, mainly in the real estate sector, which shows that Jordanian investors found the gulf country a safe haven and stable climate for business.

He added that the average annual trade volume between the countries amounted around $1.5 billion. UAE investments in Jordan exceeded $17 billion, distributed to infrastructure projects, transportation, tourism, agriculture, industry and renewable energy, the ambassador said, voicing keenness on increasing these investments.
