Kuwait: Kuwait Telecommunications Company- stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, sponsored the renowned Kuwait Maker Faire 2020 expo held from February 11th to the 15th. The Faire was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the Kuwait International Fairground in Mishref.

stc's sponsorship of the event, which was attended by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al-Roudan, and the Executive Management at stc, comes in line with the Company’s social responsibility initiative to support technology, small and medium sized enterprises, and supporting the local youth in creating innovative solutions across various fields.

Following stc’s social responsibility agenda, the Company will be sitting on the judging panel that evaluates the participants’ creations, selecting the most innovative and creative inventions presented at the Faire organized by Kuwait Investment Company.

She also expressed her gratitude towards the continuous efforts displayed by the Kuwait Investment Company to host such a major event in Kuwait that attracts local and regional participants to display their inventions.

It is worth mentioning that the Maker Faire originated in the United States of America and since then has gained global popularity. Since then, the Maker Faire has been held in several countries around the world, with Kuwait being the first GCC country to exclusively host the expo, gathering tech enthusiasts, educators, creators and inventors to display their creations and share their talents in unique ways. This year, the Maker Faire was held during the month of February right before Kuwait’s National and Liberation Day celebrations.
