Kuwait: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced its strategic partnership of the awareness campaign for the school year 2019-2020 for the second consecutive year. The campaign, organized by the Ministry of Interior’s General Department of Public Relations and Media Security, targets all school levels, and includes many programs and awareness activities that will extend throughout the new school year.

Zain participated in the opening ceremony of the campaign’s awareness exhibition at the Avenues mall, which witnessed the attendance of Deputy General Director of MOI’s General Department of Public Relations and Media Security Brigadier General Tawheed Al Kandari, Director of MOI’s Media Security Department Colonel Nasser Boslaib, as well as a number of Zain officials and the ministry’s representatives.

Zain’s strategic partnership of this awareness campaign for the second year running comes as part of its Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility strategy that aims at serving the community. The company will always be keen on shouldering initiatives that work towards enhancing the society’s welfare in partnership with the various ministries and public authorities, including the Ministry of Interior, especially in regards to spreading positive awareness to children and youth who are considered the nation’s future.

Zain’s support to this campaign will extend throughout the new school year of 2019-2020. The campaign targets all educational levels, starting with kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, and university students. The campaign is centered around five main elements: traffic awareness, drug abuse awareness, protecting and guiding minors, introducing cybercrimes and safety on social media, as well as enriching national pride and strengthening values.

The campaign’s exhibition, held at the Avenues mall from 2-4 September, mainly aims at spreading positive awareness among visitors, especially young people, about traffic safety through a number of activities that contribute to delivering a positive message in a creative way. The exhibition works to enrich traffic and legal awareness within students, parents, and road users, as well as enriching national pride and responsibility by brining citizens and police officers closer. MOI specialists will also be available to explain various traffic rules and organize fun competitions for children.

As part of its ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Interior, Zain sponsored the National Drug Abuse Prevention Campaign during last June for the second consecutive year. The campaign, which came on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June of every year, mainly aimed at spreading awareness among young people about the various types of illegal drugs, their dangers, and how to prevent their abuse.

Zain will continue to find ways to serve the community as to foster a better world and be a productive member of the society, being a leader in the Kuwaiti private sector. The company is proud to be one of the first organizations to partner with the Ministry of Interior for two consecutive years to make this campaign a success and contribute to saving lives.
