Speaking on the occasion, Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, said: “We are delighted to announce our campaign for the longest DSF season. We believe there is no better way to reward shoppers than by gratifying them with gold prizes. For most of this year, tourist-driven sales for gold, as well as from local buyers, have been negatively impacted. We are now starting to see tourists at the Deira Gold Souq and that has always been a major positive for the business. We have witnessed an increase in demand for gold jewellery in the last couple of months and expect it to grow further after the launch of the big DSF raffle promotion, as shoppers want to increase their chances of winning by shopping during DSF. Like every year, our promotion will be one of the highlights of the shopping festival.”

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) said: “Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group is one of our longest standing partners and always plays a key role in enhancing the overall experience of DSF, and we expect this year to be the same. DSF is an important time for Dubai’s retail and ancillary sectors. Rewarding jewellery shoppers with gold and hosting an exciting raffle to win gold prizes will increase sales and footfall, and give a timely boost to the city’s retail sector.”

H.E Laila Suhail, Board Member & Chairperson – Marketing – Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group and CEO, Strategic Alliance and Partnerships Sector DCTCM and Entities, commented: “DSF is a very special time of year and we are confident that the latest promotion by DGJG will make this DSF even more special for jewellery shoppers. Like every year, DGJG will provide the right momentum for DSF and will also boost the retail sector with the alternate day raffle promotion for jewellery buyers.”

She added: “Over the course of the last two decades and a half, DSF and DGJG have been working together to boost Dubai’s reputation as a world-class destination for shopping and entertainment, and this spectacular development has resulted in Dubai being called the ‘City of Gold’.”

DGJG has partnered up with Emirates Gold as the official ‘Minting Partner’ for this year’s DSF campaign.
