Omani contractor Galfar Engineering and Contracting announced on Wednesday that state-owned Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded the company a 9.5 million Omani riyals ($24 million) contract to rehabilitate Fahud runway.

The completion period for the Fahud Runway Rehabilitation Project is 11.5 months and scheduled mobilisation period is 45 days, the contractor said in a stock exchange statement.

In May 2019, local newspaper Oman Observer had reported that Oman Airports has signed an agreement with PDO to operate and maintain regional airports in PDO's oil concession areas of Fahud, Marmul, and Qarn Alam.
