Indian engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Monday that its construction business has bagged projects in the power sector in the Middle East.

The company said in a statement that the Power Transmission and Distribution Business of L&T Construction has secured orders to construct a 380kV Substation with an associated 230kV cable network and establish 380kV and 230kV Transmission Line corridors in Saudi Arabia.

The company also bagged an order to construct EHV Overhead Lines.

The statement didn't disclose the contract values or identify the customers.

Earlier this month, L&T Construction's Metallurgical & Material Handling Strategic Business Group in joint venture with Chinese construction giant Power China was awarded a $509 million contract by the UAE's Etihad Rail Company for the Design and Build of Freight Handling Facilities at seven locations across the emirate.
