Abu Dhabi – UAE: Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has announced that it will be issuing a commemorative silver coin with effect from Sunday 2/02/2020, on commemoration of the journey of the first Emirati Astronaut.

The commemorative coin shall be available for sale at CBUAE’s main office and branches. The silver coin weighing 40 grams shall be sold at the price of AED (300).

Through this initiative, CBUAE seeks to praise the vision and guidance of the UAE’s leadership, which would enhance the country's position globally.

H.E. Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori, Governor of  Central Bank of the UAE, stated: “Today, we are delighted to express our pride in the efforts of the first Emirati and Arab astronaut, and we at the Central Bank of the UAE are keen to contribute to preserving and perpetuating this historic achievement by issuing a commemorative silver coin.”

“Hazza Al Mansouri has proven that UAE believes in making the impossible possible where as a nation we are forward thinking, and ready to achieve UAE’s leadership vision across all sectors,” H.E Governor added.
