Dubai: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, announced that it has started pilot connection of its district cooling service to The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort and Spa, located in the Dubai Marina district. The total capacity of district cooling service to this project will be 6,500 Refrigeration tonnes (RT) upon completion.

The project has three key components: ‘The Address Jumeirah Resort and Spa’ with 183 rooms and suites; ‘The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort and Spa’ comprising serviced apartments; and ‘The Residences Jumeirah Dubai’. This iconic building consists of 77-storey twin towers and a lobby links the two towers, spans a total of ​​257,000 square meters. The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort & Spa is characterized by its distinctive exterior and elegant architectural designs it includes Restaurant, children’s club, health clubs, beauty salon, meeting and event ballrooms, retail shops, fully equipped gymnasiums and event lawn.

Empower has connected the district cooling service network to The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort and Spa from its permanent plant located in JBR.

Empower highlighted that the hotel sector is one of the major sectors that adopt district cooling because it helps achieve significant savings in construction cost and energy consumption, as well as maintenance and operation. The company provides district cooling services to Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Al Naseem JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Towers, Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, Royal Atlantis, , among others. This reflects their keenness to adopt energy-efficient technologies, in line with the UAE government’s initiatives to create a sustainable environment.
